I read the previous reports on a too high ping, but can't figure out what actually is good or bad...

I play Counterstrike and get ofte the message: 'ping too high'. I went to internet options and deleted the cookies and downloaded files and cleared history.

Next, did the speedtest: results I am not sure what is good or bad. Do I need a high download or upload speed for this game? Results of my speedtest:

Upload: 752
Download: 252

That last one looks quite slow indeed, but does that affect the 'ping' (whatever it is)?

ping references latency, which in its simplest terms is a delay, or how much time it takes for a packet of data to get from one designated point to another.

While related, it is not the same as bandwidth (your download and upload speed)

If your ping is too high to one server, change game servers. There is nothing you can do improve ping times in any appreciable way.

Ok, thanks. Strange though, because if I have a too high ping (and it does not happen all the time) it is either on all game servers, or on none. So changing servers doesn't help. Also, sometimes in the message which says you have a too high ping, it is followed by text along the lines of "Get an update Dumbass!", which would imply there is something I can do about it?

Cheers
