Well, I guess I'm getting ahead of myself and all my problems! I can't get online to download that trial!
I still have two problems - (1) the new ethernet card is not being recognized (2) for a week I've connected to DSL modem via USB cable, today it will not recognize USB.

I'm getting very frustrated. I'd like to get my old PC going again. I can't bring work laptop home all the time.

My thought is I need to work on getting ethernet card recognized first. Seems the USB might be more of a problem.

I'm going to disconnect laptop, try to see if there is a USB driver to download from ISP for DSL modem, load, reboot, then try to reconnect laptop and see what's new here.

Thanks for the help.

You can use the machine you are on to download and save tune up to disc (9MB file size) then load it on to the 98 machine

Working with TuneUp - looks like many things I already have within EasyCleaner or something else I've downloaded due to Geeks advice. Anyway - it's working. I'll report later.

Sorry for the delay. ISP outage for about 4 hours. Did everything as suggested in post #3 with TuneUp - computer seems no different, no connection. Tried the (going from memory now but followed the note as I tried it) 192.168.0.1 - nothing available, page/server not available.
This morning in opening up IE it tried to go to preset home page as I tried the 198 . . . the window said server not available. I hit Return, the window went blank and the ball is spinning and spinning - nothing comes up.

Any suggestions???
