Hello,
A friend states that his computer will not boot up, but fan on the power supply runs. So I got it today and it works fine for me, but when I shut it off the orange light on the front stays on and the power supply fan runs. I swapped out the power supply with a new one I had the problem still persists. Checked the Bios all fine there and change the RAM with some I had laying around. The motherboard looks fine no corosion on the capaciters. Any Ideas?
thanks
Shawn

It still sounds like a motherboard going bad. I had a athlon 600 puter that would boot some times and other times would not boot no matter how many times you hit the button. Sometimes fans would run but no boot. Sometimes it would boot up and lockup while doing something. i went thru PS's, ram, a video card and tried a friends processor before finally replacing the MB. That fixed the problem.
