Hi guys,

I'm trying to be good and tidy up my outlook express store folders before backing them up but they are getting bigger and bigger! As I delete emails in outlook express there seems to be no improvement, in fact I'd swear the folders are getting bigger! The sub-folder labelled "deleted" is 240mb and on outlook express now has nothing in it at all. Any suggestions please?

Thanks in advance.

Hello englang and welcome to G2G!

Have you tried using the clean up tool in tools > options > maintenance?

Hi, thanks.

I have tried that but it doesnt appear to do anything. One thing which maybe I should have mentioned is that some time back after seeing a tip somewhere I moved the outlook express store to a new seperate folder.

After you delete anything in OE, even if you delete from the "Deleted Items" folder, the OE still takes up all that space until you compact your folders. Click on File, Folder, then Compact All Folders.
