Having trouble copying files onto DVD

I have an Acer laptop with DVD burner, i can copy files to CD's but it doesnt seem to work on DVD's, my laptop had to be formatted a while ago, is there any software i need to reload?

Hoping someone put there will be able to help.

What software do you use for burning CS's. every software that supports CD burning supports DVD burning also.

i usually just right click and 'send to' CD, but this did not work.

Windows can't burn DVD's. You need to find a program for that. if you DVD burner came with a CD you'll probably find a burning program there if not try searching google for free burning programs.
