Im looking at a friends computer which is running windows 2000 sp 4. He says he's been using Office XP on it for quite some time with no conflicts. All of a sudden now, He's receiving an Installer popups "Preparing to install" and "Windows Installer" and then an error saying that the Setup Program has encountered an error. This occurred first when attempting to open OUTLOOK and I was not able to get into the program at all. The same Installer pop up occurs when opening publisher or Word but the application will open after you close out the installation window. Any ideas whats going on here?
