OK here is my dilemma:

I recently installed a firewire card and windows initially picked it up and installed the drivers for it. But when I shut down the pc, it won't boot back up...I would have to remove the card and re-insert it, in order for it to boot back up. I tried to move it to 2 other slots and the same thing, when I shut down it wont boot back up.

I tried to manually assign an IRQ in the bios and the same issue. I tried to change the IRQ in device manager but it's grayed out for some reason.

I'm running winXP home with an intel mobo.

anybody's help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks !

Yeah I downloaded the newest firmware from intel.com. My mobo is D845GVSRL
One more thing, I tried to add an audio card and it won't boot up up either. I tried all 3 slots. Any suggestions ?

thank you.
