I want to add a firewire/USB2 PCI card to my Dell Demension 4300. I don't want to get in over my head, but this seems like it should be a simple enough upgrade for a novist like me to handle. The only internal hardware I have ever installed was a soundcard, but that was remarkably easy. Are there compatibility issues I need to be aware of? Or can I just buy a card, open the case and plug it in? I would appreciate any help or advice you can offer. Thanks

Hi and welcome to Geeks to Go. If you have an available PCI expansion slot, it should be as simple as your sound card experience was. It is pretty much just plug and play. Get a card and install it.

Thanks so much. That's exactly what I was hoping to hear. I didn't want to get in over my head, but I also didn't want to pay more than the cost of the card to have the thing installed when all I really needed to do was plug it in. I'm going to pick one up this weekend and get it in.
