if the fan revs up during games does that mean i need a new one?

Hey there lacokanostra, welcome to Geeks To Go Forums.

When the fan speeds up it does not mean you need to get a new one. The fan usually speeds up when it is ready to cool down whatever it has to cool down. But getting an extra fan could also help to cool down the system.

It doesn't mean you need a new fan. Actually it's good that your fan speeds up before and during games so you can be sure your system won't overheat.
