Error When Running Office 2000

I am running Windows XP SP2 and just installed Office 2000 on my computer while logged in as an administrator. However when my husband tries to open Word or Excel while logged in to his account (this account does not have administrator privileges) an error message pops up. It says, "Error 1706. No valid source could be found for product Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Professional. The Windows installer cannot continue." After you cancel out of this error message a few times the programs will run normally. Does anyone know what's going on here?
