I have been running disk defragmenter and it stops after 3% completion to inform me that the program has closed because of DEP (which is protecting me from harmful code). The defragmentation stops at a file called BVRPWF2000.BUD

I haven't a clue what this is or how to proceed. If anyone can help a newbie it would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanks for the lighting fast response. I followed your advice and reran the defragmenter after closing everything down and disconnecting from the Internet. Sadly the same issue occurred, but it stopped at a different file this time.

Any other suggestions would be welcome.
