Hello,

I bought my current sytem on advise from WarriorScot and it's bloomin' marvelous, cheers mate. At the time I didn't have enough spare cash to buy a graphics card and initially the onboard ATI x300 did the job. But that was then and now I want to game!

I'm leaning towards a Sapphire X1600 Pro 512MB DDR2 (PCI-E) and my budget is £100. Any comments on this card or other recomendations would be most welcome.

Thanks, Dango

Hey,

I would hold off till the summer releases are done before you buy a new gfx card as the new ones will be DX10 which is gonna be really good. x1600s are ok but not great i usually prefer ATI but the 7600GTs are a good deal they have a few disadvantages but they run at insane clock speeds to compensate.

Hey Warrior,

Yeah, I read the other posts. Sorry to have asked the same question. I'll look back in a few months to see what you guys say is the best of the new breed.

Take it easy, Dango

Keep in mind, from what I hear you will also need Windows Vista to upgrade to DX10 (as far as the readings I've read explained).

I hope this isn't true because I don't really want to switch OS's just to get the latest graphics card  But just throwin it out there. If I'm wrong, someone correct me please :whistling:

You wont but you need Vista to use DX10 features and software, you would still be able to use them using dx9L.
