I hope someone will give me some good news. After an identity theft and hijacking of my computer, I encountered problems, problems, PROBLEMS. When I tried to close the door to the hijacker, he (she?) wasn't happy and started disassembling things beginning with Norton Antivirus, then my toolbar sprouted interesting icons, etc. But NOTHING showed up on ANY virus scan. I have reloaded my Windows XP OS (with all updates including SP2), Spybot, switched to firefox browser, added AntiVir (in lieu of Norton) and I think I just maybe am finally clean???? Am I???? For some reason I feel a little leftover grunge.......

Hi missM,

Welcome to geekstogo.com! I'm sorry to hear about your identify theft problem. :tazz: Thats a major bummer.

The good news is your hijackthis log looks clean. There's one entry left over but it's just a Norton entry.

Please temporarily disable SpyBot's Teatimer protection. It can disrupt fixing items with HijackThis.

Run hijackthis again, click Scan. Check the boxes next to these entries. Then close all windows except HijackThis. Tell HijackThis to 'Fix checked'.

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {BDF3E430-B101-42AD-A544-FADC6B084872} - (no file)

Next, run these online scans just to be sure everything is gone:
http://www.pandasoft...n_principal.htm
http://housecall.tre.../start_corp.asp
http://www.ravantivirus.com/scan/

Reboot your computer, run hijackthis again, save a fresh log and post it back into this thread.

Hi missM,

Were you able to run those virus scans?? Even though your hijackthis log is clean, there can be times when things hide on your system. Let me know.
