I agree... and in my previous posts elsewhere, I have expressed my absolute confusion and dismay that this OS is such a reource hog.

I expect so much better from MSFT. After all, they have had 5 + years since XP to figure this out. I simply do not accept the premise that it's slow because they are adding so many new features. In my experience, software is slow because of inefficient programming and sloppy code.

You want faster performance, turn off the extra features or just strip em out the code yourself of your that bothered people have made cut down windows for years to make it faster so why not do it now if thats such a bother to you.

Also your forgetting moores law and its effect on computers, sure its a resource hog, but modern computers have more clout than they know what to do with, a new computer can easily handle vista all its features and anything else you care to use, you design an OS for the hardware of its day and its life, not the day and life of its other OS generations which are still viable products in there own right.

MSDN users its out for, it will be through the same beta experience site in a few weeks.

Yeah, I forgot to let you guys know, but I saw a line on the beta site which stated that Vista is not yet available for non-MSDN beta testers.
