:whistling: I just recently built a PC and loaded windows XP pro and from day one I have been having problems at windows start up. The system boots up completly but when it gets to the windows startup screen after a few seconds it locks up. I can see the task bar activity for a few seconds then it does not move anymore and just stays that way. Sometimes it will boot up with no trouble and then other times it hangs up , please help.

When in safe mode, run your antivirus scanner and antispyware program(s). It could be malware keeping your machine from starting up like it's supposed to.
