Hello,

When i scan using Ad-Aware i get 2 critical objects frequently:
the item details is:

Critical object 1:

Name: Windows
Category: Vulnerability
Object Type: RegData
Size: 15 Bytes
Location: regfileshellopencommand " " (notepad.exe %1)
last activity:27.05.2006
Relevance: Low
TAC rating: 3
Comment: Possible virus infection, REG file extension compromised

Critical Object 2:

All the same as above except scrfileshellopencommand ""(notepad.exe %1)

Comment: Possible virus infection, SCR file extension compromised

I use XP SP2, NOD32 antivirus but it does not show any infections. Nor do
Zone Alarm, System Mechanic 6 show any infections. Only Ad-Aware shows
it frequently even though i remove it using the same program. I update all
programs frequently. Please help.
Kind regards.

Thanks Emery for your kind guidance.
I think that there is some interference between my Ad Aware and my system mechanic 6 software. I think that they pass each other the same detected problem continiously. I am not sure but I cannot arrive to diagnose any other source of problem.
If any of valuable forum members had this experience their advises are very welcome.
Kind regards.

I would follow Emery's advice for now. Mainly, it is not a good idea to have too many malware/virus scanners running at one time. If your system mechanic 6 software is on a regular schedule and is scanning when you run LavaSoft's Ad-Aware, you could have a conflict.

If you suspect malware, best advice is Emery's.
