I have a problem when opening certain applications i get an error message "error1706,no valid installation path can be found for this product ,try to find a valid copy of xxxx.msi"What does this mean and how can i correct it?
The applications willeventually open if i keep pressing cancel when prompted for a removable CD.

This doesn't seem to be malware related...please post this in the correct area next time. We'll see if we can fix it but if not, post in the Windows forum.

Have you tried reinstalling or inserting the CD for the respective program and see if it corrected the issue? It might be looking for a file that it needs to function properly or to install a new feature.

If more assistance is needed, create a new topic in the Windows forum. Post back saying that you posted a new topic in Windows forum so I can close this topic.
