Just recently, the audio quality on my computer has decreased to a pathetic level. The problem seems to reside in my computer's performance. Whenever it is performing a task that takes up the processing capabilities the quality of the audio begins to diminish with clicks, distortion, and fuzz. When the computer is idle the sound quality is normal. This is fairly odd because it has just begun doing this. Perhaps the problem lies within the sound controller or perhaps its a priority issue, neither of which I have no idea how to fix, I've messed around with the sound controller options, but all I managed to do was to disable it and reenable it. Help would be appreciated, I got to start jammin' again.

Specs...
OS: Windows XP
Product: Dell Dimension 3000
Processer: Pentium 4 2.80 GhZ
RAM: 1 GIG
Sound Controller: SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio

By the way I just upgraded all my sound drivers and it doesn't fix the problem.

Thanks
