Is there a place that I could post my RFA errors? They say to "remove with extreme caution," and I have no idea what is safe.

Registry First Aid found the reg errors. Most of them have "EventMessageFile has invalid file reference" but cautions to not delete them unless you know what you are doing. Which I really don't.

Get CCleaner, run scan for issues, post the number of errors, do not press fix

You could also run this, the registry clean up will scan and show the errors, close tune up without doing anything, post the number of errors

Click start then all programmes, accessories, system tools to run disc clean up, then also from system tools, run disc defragmenter

Click start then run, type prefetch then press enter, click edit then select all, (all files will highlight), right click any file, click delete, confirm then reboot.

Download, install and run Tune Up 2006 Trial

Run Tune Up disc clean up

Run Tune Up registry clean up

Disable the anti virus programme then click Optimize and Improve to run Reg Defrag, the screen will lose colour during the process which can take a few minutes and then needs a reboot

Check the anti virus programme is running

Those will have cleared the drive of obsolete software errors

These are suggestions for making the most of the free trial

After the reboot, click optimize then system optimizer to optimize the computer, select computer with an internet connection from the drop down menu, this also requires a reboot

After the reboot, click optimize then system optimizer to accelerate downloads, select the speed just above your actual connection speed, this requires a reboot.

After the reboot, click optimize then system optimizer to run system advisor

Thank you. I completed the above and everything comes up clean. My system seems a little quicker.
But, Registry First Aid still comes up with the same errors. I know it's asking a lot, but in your opinion, is it safe to delete the substrings, or correct the entries as recommended? The first listed suggestion is the software's recommended correction.

Run CCleaner then run scan for issues, click fix, take the option to make a back up, name it by date, after that, run scan for issues, making a back up until clear, create a folder in My Documents and move the back ups there

Run tune up registry clean up and clean any errors it shows, re-run until clear

Click start then run, type prefetch then press enter, click edit then select all, (all files will highlight), right click any file, click delete, confirm then reboot

Run registry first aid to check the errors, though I would be inclined to ignore it if it stil finds errors the other two programmes have dealt with

Also, the 12 auto runs are installed programmes, so I don't see the point of doing anything there, unless you no longer need any of them to run at start up

I followed your instructions and everything is clean, except registry first aid. I am tempted to run the RFA corrections to get rid of them. Can I really screw things up? Should I really convince myself to ignore them?

You could set a restore point

You could click start then run, type regedit then press enter, click file, click export, check the dot is in all, save this to My Documents then create a new folder and move the back up to there

You should do those before running the other one
