Hard Drive is Screaming, whining, in Laptop

My ibook G4 was workering wonderfully, when i took it out of sleep, and this screaming noise came out of it. i opened it up to see where it was coming from. It was coming from the hard drive. when i turn it on and let it go through th screaming stages, it just goes to a greyish screen and sometimes a page with the apple logo,ut never allows me to login. I took pretty good care of this laptop(but i do take it to school) and it was working the night before. what do i do?!

Hi. It sounds like the hard drive died and needs to be replaced.

ok. well i turned it on this morning, and the whining has stopped, but it comes to this screen that is blank besides a folder that has a ? in the middle. thanks
