this all started happening about a month or 2 ago. when my avgfree program tries to auto-update, it says it can't connect to the internet (so i have to manually update it). this also happens when i try to update spyblaster and some other programs. I'm running myie2 because firefox and opera wouldn't connect to the internet either (i uninstalled them, deleted their registry keys, removed their folders from the "application files" in the local settings and user directories, etc... and then reinstalled them and still couldn't connect. i've set the windows firewall so they can pass through, but that doesn't do anything. when i try to play diablo 2 or other games online, i get an error saying they can't detect any servers, no internet connection, etc... even though i can get to the intenet with my browser and trillian. i've run spyware programs, antivirus programs, the panda online scan, etc.. none of them have found anything. i don't have a windows cd because IBM didn't give me one (they have a recovery partition or something like that on the computer). We did get a new wireless router recently, but i don't think that is the problem because the other computers in my house can connect with firefox and opera. any help would be appreciated
