Well, I've used the system requirements checker and it says basically that my computer is going to be amazingly fast with COD2. It is until the map starts and I start to play. FPS count is 10 average and it will lag out during firefights. I know it is not a connection problem because I have cable and when connected directly to router the same things happened. I'm running the game at default settings. All background programs are closed. I recieved the computer on Friday.

System Specs:
GFX Card: ATI Mobility Radeon X1300
Processors: Duo Core 1.66 GHz
RAM: 1GB
OS: Windows XP Media Center Edition SP2

-----
also i thought i would mention that my main desktop runs COD2 perfectly average 70 fps, but it failed both requirement tests (minimum and recommended)

Try all of these to hopefully find a solution..

Make shure you have the latest drivers for your video card and directx.

auto-detect the video card settings again under the settings.. try running the game again if it still doesnt help, lower some of the video settings in the game. Look for antistrophic filtering and anti aliasing and turn them off. If they are on that card really isnt powerfull enough for af or aa. I wouldnt put it any higher than 2x max for both but I would put it to off with that video card.. Lower some of the other settings..

Last, try forcing the game to run on only one of the cores of the processor.. some games do not like the dual core processors.

Press control alt delete

goto applications tab

find cod2

right click the cod2 under task

goto process

now right click the one that is highlited for you and goto set affinity.

uncheck one of the cpu's and press ok. It shouldnt matter which one.

Try the game again.

LOL I always spell that wrong, its anisotropic filtering. Its in your settings somewhere I cant remember where I dont have cod2 anymore.

leave it at bilinear or tri because if you put it to 2x or above it will get even worse.

ok any other settings would help, I don't care about the looks of the game i just want to be able to have an average of 30 (hopefully 40) fps. Whereas right now i have 15-20 average.

Try disableing antialiasing or setting it at lower value like 2x cause you graphics card ain't that powerfull and antialiasing put a lot of strain to the GPU.

Well I don't think you can get more FPS with that card. If you search for tests on x1300 on google you will see that in CoD2 around 20 FPS at resolution of 1024x768 is the best you can get.

I got nvidia geforce 7500 LE not the best of graphics cards, i can hit 333 fps when looking up or down, but its normally 200+ all the time.

I play with a default config but my setting are at the lowest, its so smooth and i aint bothered about the quality...

640x480
56hz
auto
bilinear
off
directx7
brightness
no
no
off

Texture setting - manual

low
low
low

thats what i have in my graphics setting and its works really well. 19 inch monitor its fine...
