I have a movie from limewire. When I went to play it on nero 6 it came up with message cannot play vids:xvid decompressor not found. I then went and downloaded vids:xvid decompressor and the movie played except there is no sound. The sound on the pc is working ok and if I play the movie in ms media player still no sound. Copied the movie to a dvd to see if it would work, great picture but still no sound and I'm crap at lip reading, all help greatly appreciated. 40.

We here at GeeksToGo will not assist you with issues relating to P2P file sharing programs. While many of these programs are-in-and of themselve legal, most things aquired by their use are not. Instead of attempting to differentiate between the legal use of P2P programs and the illegal use thereof, we have decided to stop helping with issues regarding this software. It is also in your best interest to know that many P2P software packages come bundled with spyware/malware/virii and that their use greatly increases the chances of your computer becoming infected. I strongly suggest that you uninstall these programs and refrain from using them at all costs.

I'm sure you'll find that when you get your movies legally...that they will work better

There are a number of problems here.

First, we do not support nor condone the use of P2P software here. Legal implications aside, its bad business to be messing with a network that is as corrupt and full of virii/mawlare as any P2P network.

Second, downloading movies is illegal. Again, legal implications for the site, you will get no help with such things here.

Thread moved to Applications and Closed. Do not start a new one about this issue.
