I just dont get this installer. I jsut wondered whether somebody using this forum could help me please. Over the past few months I have been having major problems with Microsofts Installer. The information the installer uses keeps becoming corrupt on various programs that I use, therefore will not let me update/ remove/ repair. I recently had this problem with office - which I sorted out using the windows installer clean up service and fiddling in the registry. Now that Office is OK again this problem has now jumped to adobe reader 7.07 - which can not be installed/ repaired. When I try and fix this through the windows installer clean up service and re-install adobe reader - Office then becomes corrupt again. Does anybody know of a fix or a program that may be damaging the windows installer service.

Thanks in advance,

Also, possibly disk corruption

start > run

chkdsk /r

say yes to should you run chkdsk on reboot and reboot

This will take a long time
