Recently upgraded to Leadtek Winfast A180 (64mb,8xAGP)card.System will only run with hardware acceleration turned off.Even then when scrolling jpgs the picture breaks up when scrolling horizontally, but not vertically.Don't do games at all.

If harware acceleration is enabled to any degree the system keeps restarting stating drawing problems

Have installed SIS AGP revision 1.17 and latest driver from Leadtek but still the same.

Previously RMA'd an ATI Radeon 7000 (64mb, 6XAGP) thinking this card was either faulty or not compatible.Obviously not the case.

Previous card (now sold) was perfect.Creative TNT2 Ultra 32mb.

Thinking now must be motherboard compatibility problem. Gigabyte GA-8ST800,
512mb PC2100, P4 2.0GHZ. Running both Norton Anti-Virus and Norton Firewall.

17" Iiyama running at 1024x768,32bit colour,85hz refresh. Win XP <_<

Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome gordonmillar <_<

It looks as though you've had a few video cards, and drivers installed on this system. Often times these drivers don't get along very well, and can be difficult to completely remove. Try downloading Driver Cleaner. Use it to remove all video drivers from your system, and then install the latest driver for your card.

Have you changed any BIOS settings? If so, you should try changing back the the defaults, or here are a couple BIOS settings to check.
1) AGP aperature size should be at least 64mb
2) AGP Fast Writes should be off
3) Set AGP multiplier to 4X.
4) Boot to AGP (not PCI).
