Click start then run, type prefetch then press enter, click edit, click select all, right click any file, click delete, confirm, close

Click start then run, type msconfig then press enter, click start up, click disable all, click apply and reboot, tick do not start the configuration utility when windows loads

Click start, all programmes, accessories, system tools to run disc clean up, then run disc defragmenter

Check the anti virus is disabled

Install the soundcard software from the CD

Click start then run, type msconfig then press enter, put the dot in normal start up, click apply and reboot

Check the firewall, anti virus and any anti- spyware programmes are running

Download and install Everest Home Edition

Run the programme, click + next to computer then summary

Look on right for multimedia / audio adapter

Look at the manufacturer’s site for the suitable drivers for your Operating System

If you are unable to find them, please post the make and model here before you download anything

Please set a system restore point before you install anything

Which is understandable, looking at that :whistling:

Got to http://www.creative.com/support/

Click software auto update, you will need to click tools, pop up blocker, turn off pop up blocker

You may need to install their update engine etc, allow those and see what it offers you

It will be one of the items when you click any of the headings on any of the screens, which could take a while, but it will be there
