I'm using XP Home sp2.
I have my folder/file preferences set at 'details' and that works ok.
What is driving me crazy is that whenever I click 'Open' from a Photo or image editing program, the files (and even the folders) show up as thumbnails.

It makes life difficult as with over 150 or so images per folder, it takes for ever to find just one or two.
I can select 'list' on that menu, but it only lasts until the next time I click 'Open'.

All help / advice is welcome and appreciated, my thanks in advance.

You can try setting the detail view to all folders.

Thanks for that, I tried setting the list to 'all folders' and it works - except when using photo software!
I'll try the link, see how things go. Thanks for the help, it's appreciated:)
