Help please! I posted here earlier (I know I'm only supposed to post once...) But I realized I made a mistake, I ran HijackThis from my desktop. Well now I fixed that, I put it into its own folder in Program Files. Anyway, I have the same problem as, from what I've read, tons of other people have. I can't open My Computer, My Documents, Recycle Bin, etc. from my desktop. Here is my HJT Log...any help would be great!! Sorry again for posting earlier, I shouldn't have run HJT from my desktop.

Hi Cisco10785

Welcome to geekstogo ;)

Please download all items to your desktop first.

Please read through the instructions before you start (you may want to print this out).

Please download and install these programs - don't run them yet!!

Please download and unzip
About:Buster to a folder. Inside the folder is a readme file that has instructions on the use of the program.
AboutBuster MUST be updated before you use it.
Start AboutBuster, click the update button, check for update, drag the box to the side and hit download updates, close the box . Don't run it yet.

Please download and install AD-Aware.
Check Here on how setup and use it - please make sure you update it first.

Download and unzip cwsserviceremove to your desktop. use either link below:
cwsserviceremove

cwsserviceremove.zip

Download CW-Shredder at the link below:
CWShredder

Open Windows Explorer & Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked.
Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and untick "hide extensions for known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders"
Click "Apply" then "OK"

For anyone using Windows XP, 'Search' will not automatically show hidden files even if your folder options settings are set to do that. Do this so you can see hidden files and folders - Click here to download xphidden.zip. Extract xphidden.reg from the zip file and save it to the desktop. When done, double-click the xphidden.reg and when asked to merge say yes.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Here's the fix:

Important Step
1. Go to Start->Run and type "Services.msc" (without quotes) then hit Ok
Scroll down and find the service called:

Network Security Service (NSS) - Unknown - C:\WINDOWS\system32\iecn.exe

When you find it, double-click on it. In the next window that opens, click the Stop button, then click on properties and under the General Tab, change the Startup Type to Disabled. Now hit Apply and then Ok and close any open windows. If you donīt find this service listed go ahead with the next steps.

2. Reboot into Safe Mode: Click here if you don't know how to do this.

3. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete once -> Click Task Manager -> Click the Processes tab -> Double-click the Image Name column header to alphabetically sort the processes -> Scroll through the list and look for:
C:\WINDOWS\fwmry.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ieup32.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\tibs5.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\Fidnmw.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\apihf32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\apitq32.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\j?vaw.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\iecn.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\Francisco\Application Data\eetu.exe
C:\Documents and Settings\Francisco\Temp\C.tmp.exe 5 10001
C:\Documents and Settings\Francisco\Temp\1C.tmp.exe 0 10001
C:\Documents and Settings\Francisco\Temp\109.tmp.exe 2 10001

If you find the files, click on them, and then click End Process -> Exit the Task Manager.

4. CLOSE ALL WINDOWS AND BROWSERS Scan with HijackThis and put checks next to all the following,

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = res://C:\WINDOWS\fwmry.dll/sp.html#10001
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = res://C:\WINDOWS\fwmry.dll/sp.html#10001

O15 - Trusted IP range: (HKLM)
O23 - Service: Network Security Service (NSS) - Unknown - C:\WINDOWS\system32\iecn.exe (file missing)

Then click on "Fix Checked"

5. Download the Pocket Killbox.
a. Unzip the contents of KillBox.zip to a convenient location.
b. Double-click on KillBox.exe.
c. Click "Replace on Reboot" and check the "Use Dummy" box.
d. Paste this file into the top "Full Path of File to Delete" box.

C:\WINDOWS\fwmry.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ieup32.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\tibs5.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\Fidnmw.exe

C:\Documents and Settings\Francisco\Temp\109.tmp.exe 2 10001

e. Click the "Delete File" button which looks like a stop sign.
f. Click "Yes" at the Replace on Reboot prompt.
g. Follow the steps for each file in c, d, e, f, g when done close killbox

6. Run AboutBuster . This will scan your computer for the bad files and delete them. Save the report (copy and paste into notepad or wordpad and save as a .txt file) and post a copy back here when you are done with all the steps.

7. Scan with AdAware and let it remove any bad files found.

8. Clean out temporary and TIF files. Go to Start > Run and type in the box: cleanmgr. Let it scan your system for files to remove. Make sure these 3 are checked and then press *ok* to remove:

Download the ccleaner
I use this Program and is setup like this all boxs are check.
Now run the ccleaner

Clean out all temp files in Mozilla, Internet Explorer.

Hi Cisco10785

Welcome to geekstogo

Please read through the instructions before you start (you may want to print this out).

Please set your system to show all files; Click here for how to do this if you're unsure.

You have the Peper trojan.
Please download the tool from here and save it to the Desktop.
Run it by double-clicking on it. You must be online when you do this. You must run this fix first.

After cleaning the peper Trojan continue with the fix below

Important Step
1. Go to Start->Run and type "Services.msc" (without quotes) then hit Ok
Scroll down and find the service called:

WLTRYSVC - Unknown - C:\WINDOWS\System32\WLTRYSVC.EXE C:\WINDOWS\System32\bcmwltry.exe

When you find it, double-click on it. In the next window that opens, click the Stop button, then click on properties and under the General Tab, change the Startup Type to Disabled. Now hit Apply and then Ok and close any open windows. If you donīt find this service listed go ahead with the next steps.

Press Control-Alt-Del to enter the Task Manager.
Click on the Processes tab and end the following processes If found

C:\WINDOWS\system32\LodRv.exe

Exit the Task Manager when finished

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items.[/b]

O23 - Service: WLTRYSVC - Unknown - C:\WINDOWS\System32\WLTRYSVC.EXE C:\WINDOWS\System32\bcmwltry.exe (file missing)

Click on {redFix Checked} and exit HijackThis.

Reboot into Safe Mode: see here if you don't know how to do this.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them. {redIf found}

C:\WINDOWS\system32\LodRv.exe<--Delete this file
C:\WINDOWS\System32\WLTRYSVC.EXE<--Delete this file
C:\WINDOWS\System32\bcmwltry.exe<--Delete this file

Exit Explorer, and reboot as normal afterwards.

Please run the following free, online virus scans.

http://housecall.tre.../start_corp.asp
http://www.pandasoft...n_principal.htm

Please post the logs From both virus scans and HJT.log we will need them to remove previous infections that have left files on your system.

Here is my HJT log and my Housecall log...I was not able to access a pandasoftware log because it detected no viruses. ALSO, I have another question, I'm not too sure if you'd be able to help with this...I was on the internet via wireless before going through the instructions of your last post...in order to run the HijackThis scan as you said, I logged offline (disabling the "radio" as Windows calls it, in my system tray at the lower right), and closed all windows. After running the scan and deleting the files that you asked me to delete, and after rebooting, the enable or disable radio feature disappeared from my system tray, and I am now not able to access the internet via wireless (I am using an ethernet cable now). Could this have to do with what I did earlier? Please let me know...anyway, here are my logs...and thanks for all this help!!

Hi Cisco10785

The following explains how to remove items from your computer that are malware. These must be fixed now!

You are running an out-of-date version of HijackThis; can you please download a new copy (there is a link in my signature), unzip it, and replace your existing copy with the new version.

[*]You have the Peper trojan.
Download the Peperfix Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Make sure you are connected to the Internet and run it; reboot afterwards. Repeat the procedure as it has to be run twice to ensure its effectiveness.

[*]Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

[*]Close all programs leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following, making sure you get them all and not any others by mistake:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [2LRX2W83X2T3MQ] C:\WINDOWS\System32\NuzK63G.exe
O8 - Extra context menu item: &Viewpoint Search - res://C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Toolbar\ViewBar.dll/CXTSEARCH.HTML
O15 - Trusted Zone: *.frame.crazywinnings.com
O15 - Trusted Zone: *.frame.crazywinnings.com (HKLM)
O15 - Trusted IP range: 206.161.125.149
O15 - Trusted IP range: (HKLM)
O16 - DPF: {24D1BDCE-D835-11D6-BF84-0050047EA0E7} (BlueStream_Flash Class) - http://www.rovion.co...rols/Rovion.cab

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

[*]Reboot into Safe Mode: please see here if you are not sure how to do this.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them:
C:\WINDOWS\System32\NuzK63G.exe
C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Toolbar\ViewBar.dll/CXTSEARCH.HTML

Exit Explorer, and reboot as normal afterwards.

Post back a fresh HijackThis log and we will take another look.

Here is the new HJT log...a small problem, some of the files that you asked to be deleted weren't even there in the first place..and I still see some items in the HJT log that come back even after I fix them, either way, here's the log! Thanks

Hi Cisco10785

Download the ccleaner
I use this Program and is setup like this all boxs are check.

Clean out all temp files in Mozilla, Internet Explorer.
Internet Explorer: Tools/ Internet Options/ General/ Temporary internet files/ Delete Files (NOTE, that this may take very long!). You can also set the memory limit to about 80 MB at the Settings.

Mozilla: Edit/ Options/ Extended/ Cache/ Clear Cache

Turn of system restore
Disabling or enabling Windows XP System Restore

Defrag your hard drive turn system restore back on and create a new restore point.

Congratulations! Your system is CLEAN :tazz:

How do you prevent spyware from being installed again? We strongly recommend installing SpywareBlaster (it's free for personal use). Click Here
QUOTE
Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.
Consumes no system resources.

Download, run, check for updates, download updates, select all, protect against checked. All done. Check for updates every couple of weeks. If you have any errors running the program like a missing file see the link at the bottom of the javacool page.

It's also very important to keep your system up to date to avoid unnecessary security risks. Click Here http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ to make sure that you have the latest patches for Windows.

These next two steps are optional, but will provide the greatest protection.
1. Use ANY browser besides Internet Explorer, almost every exploit is crafted to take advantage of an IE weakness. We usually recommend FireFox user posted image.
2. Install Sun's Java. It's much more secure than Microsoft's Java Virtual Machine .

After doing all these, your system will be thoroughly protected from future threats. ;)

Kc ;)
