removing old Win2000 files after installing XP on top

what folders/files etc are definitely ok to remove

ive got loads of space taken up by folders that must be to do with the win2k application but dont know which are which and i dont wanna knacker my pc

please explain installed xp on top of

Windows 2000 installs almost all files in c:\winnt, c:\program files and c:\documents and settings

Windows XP installs files to the same folders, with the exception that it usually uses c\windows

In the case of an upgrade, though, it will use c:\winnt

Since we do not know what you did when you installed, it is tough to suggest possibilities
