Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeello :help:

I will try to make a HUGE story itty bitty...

AOL caused allot of issues, and I ended up installing windows again, and doing a clean sweep.

Now, no more issues...

But I went to close my AOL account and I signed on to SBC Yahoo Internet Services, but to my surprise, if I canceled out AOL they were going to give me a 50 dollar fine.

"due to a contract" <~~~~ :help: I forgot about that one...

So I canceled out the SBC Yahoo service

But anywho, with AOL I get a free McAfee Virus Program and then dropped the monthly fee down to 14.95 :help: :help: :help:

So I did go to Add/Remove Programs and got rid of AVG and SBC Yahoo services, and I noticed that SBC Yahoo is still listed in my HJT log.

Also, not for sure if all the Yahoo that is shown in the log is due to Yahoo Messenger or if it was due to the SBC Yahoo Services that I had and then canceled.

OK... Ummmm :tazz: Bare with me here..... ;)

I asked Thatman for the new updated HJT program location, and he gave me what I needed, but when I went to that site, it gave an error page, and then a download box came up for HTJ...

Was not sure if I should have still downloaded it, but here is the HJT log from the org. HJT program from GTG.

OK... done now.... :help:

Hi crafty_girl_30

Welcome to geekstogo ;)

Please read through the instructions before you start (you may want to print this out).

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items.[/b]

Click on {redFix Checked} and exit HijackThis.

Reboot into Safe Mode: see here if you don't know how to do this.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them. {redIf found}

C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm

Exit Explorer, and reboot as normal afterwards.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log in this same topic, and let us know how your system's working.

Hi crafty_girl_30

Yes I know you have been here a bit, but I had to shake the cobwebs off your HJT.log.

Download the ccleaner
I use this Program and is setup like this all boxs are check.

Clean out all temp files in Mozilla, Internet Explorer.
Internet Explorer: Tools/ Internet Options/ General/ Temporary internet files/ Delete Files (NOTE, that this may take very long!). You can also set the memory limit to about 80 MB at the Settings.

Mozilla: Edit/ Options/ Extended/ Cache/ Clear Cache

Turn of system restore
Defrag your hard drive turn system restore back on and create a new restore point.

Congratulations! Your system is CLEAN ;)

How do you prevent spyware from being installed again? We strongly recommend installing SpywareBlaster (it's free for personal use). Click Here
QUOTE
Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.
Consumes no system resources.

Download, run, check for updates, download updates, select all, protect against checked. All done. Check for updates every couple of weeks. If you have any errors running the program like a missing file see the link at the bottom of the javacool page.

It's also very important to keep your system up to date to avoid unnecessary security risks. Click Here http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ to make sure that you have the latest patches for Windows.

These next two steps are optional, but will provide the greatest protection.
1. Use ANY browser besides Internet Explorer, almost every exploit is crafted to take advantage of an IE weakness. We usually recommend FireFox user posted image.
2. Install Sun's Java. It's much more secure than Microsoft's Java Virtual Machine .

After doing all these, your system will be thoroughly protected from future threats.

Hi crafty_girl_30

The I use the ccleaner and have it set to start up with windows so when I start up my PC all the temp file's are removed and my internet temp files, and history files and the recycle bin.

It has never removed any off my program files. You can set it up to remove what you feel is safe for you,

Have a nice day ;)

Thanks hun...

I hope it will be ok... But why would I need something AKA "a program" to delete these items myself...

I know you were just trying to help... I'm not damning ya for it, but if this is "all" that it does, then I'm basicly using more of my puter space...

But.... before I go and uninstall it, I will give it a shot, and pray that I dont loose any programs...

Thanks for all your help hun...
