problem with installer and java

ok here i go....trying to play in pogo..it says i dont have java but java says i do..when i go to add/remove program i get a message saying i cannot remove java cause windows installer service not working or running in safe mode...if i try to reinstall java get the same message abt windows installer..but i have downloaded and removed other programs no problem...because of this installer i also cannot download any updates and my defrag wont work anymore..have run virus scan with avg and it says no virus :whistling:
