For some reason, my computer won't output any sound through the headphones. I really need headphones for my games so I can be quiet while everyone is sleeping.

I have an integrated sound card and these wires are leading from the headphone slot: Return R, Return L, Ground, Spk Out R, Spk Out L, Mic In, and Mic Bias. I have three slots for these wires next to my integrated sound card. Which combination do I need to use to get my headphones and mic working?

The back panel should be colour coded, have you made sure you have your sound drivers installed.

Also what kind of headphones are they, 2.0, 2.1, 5.1, 7.1 etc. bigger the first number more of a pain to wire up. If its 2.0 or 2.1 itll just need the green and black jacks.

The wires I am talking about are the ones that plug into the motherboard.

The layout may not similar so check motherboard manual
Front panel audio mic leads should be marked

Return R, Audio Right from front panel sound to Right spkr pin 6
Return L, Audio Left from front panel sound to Left spkr pin 10
Ground, Common Ground pin 2
Spk Out R, Audio Right to front panel Headphone Right side pin 5
Spk Out L, Audio Left to front panel Headphone Left side pin 9
Mic In, Frontpanel mirophone input pin 1
Mic Bias microphone power pin 3

AUD1
2 o o o o 10
1 o o o o o 9

The combination for your mic is mic in + ground

Headphone Jack needs Spk Out R ,Return R and Ground and pk Out L ,Return L and Ground

This will turn off sound to speakers when headphone attached
