COD error

I might be over looking something simple but I can't think what.
When I load call of duty an error appears "please insert correct CD_ROM, select OK and resart application".
I don't understand it, I was playing it, no probs. Had dinner, then this.
I could probably load a crack but don't want to, (I shouldn't have to. I paid for it today, it was working fine).
Any one think of anything?

edit: I also tried a reinstall
