windows xp home edition activation problem

sorry to bother you but i have windows xp home edition and when i boot up my computer tells me to activate windows when i click activate the activation screen pops up and says that windows is aready activated
yet i still have a count down going on with activation
how can i remedy this problem :whistling:

try this first

Start>run
regsvr32 regwizc.dll
<enter>

start>run
regsvr32 licdll.dll
<enter>

i would like to thank you for your info unfortunatly it didnt fix the problem
