I'm surprised they are releasing beta2 to the general public. While a step above the most recent milestone, I still do not feel its ready for prime time....

I also expect there will be a fair share of problems downloading for at least a few days. The x86 version of 3GB+, and the x64 version over 4GB.

yes, you can dual boot...but do use a seperate partition

If you have a 64 bit system use the 64 if you have 32 use 32, if you dont know either find out using pcwizard or cpu-z or get the 32 which will work on both 32 and 64 bit systems.

What are the 64-bit programs that's a must-have? That's the key as to whether or not you need a 64-bit operating system.

You can take the PC Pitstop's Vista Readiness test at: http://www.pcpitstop...ady/default.asp if you're planning to install Vista. Be sure to look at "Recommended"

Note: PC Pitstop's is having issues with hard drive recognition on the Vista test, and will have it fixed soon.

Beta means software in its large scale testing phase, usually involves a conrtolled group at first then a public for everyone to try, it lets the developers find bugs faster and fine tune features. Vista is the replacement to XP.
