Hi,

I have had the Dr Watson Postmortem debugger problem for the best part of 2 weeks and have got rid of it by having to do a reinstall of XP Home edition. The problem only occurs to my knowledge when SP2 was installed on my computer and appart from what others have said about this trojan, I do not down load p***, music or very much else, saving my pc mainly for work and a few games.

It got to the stage that I could not even uninstall SP2, or for that matter reinstall XP, and had to go about it by firstly doing a repair, but not removing the operating disc when instructed to do so.

Anyway, I am now affraid to reinstall SP2 again, for want of the pest returning, I would therefore ask, has anybody else done this and had similar problems.

Thanks for all that have published help on this matter on this site, I tried the lot, none of it worked, but thanks anyway.

Sounds like you installed SP2 on a system infected with malware. This is known to cause serious problems. If your system is clean now, you should have no problems installing SP2.
