Ok i have these speakers and i need to install them i need help cant find them when i boot up i dont think my ALTEC lansing speakers came with a CD but they just can't be found so i can install them !!!help would be very appreciated! thnks

uh....speakers usually don't need to be "installed"....they generally just plug into the speaker port in the back with a normal jack that looks like an earphone deal....what kind of speakers are these (make and model)? how do they connect to the pc?

well their altec lansing speakers and they connect to it normally the green port but no sound comes out when 1 month ago before i got the new windows version then now they dont work i just need to reinstall them but i cant find the disk if i even had one.

if they plug into the green port...then there's no software to install..plain and simple...

are the speakers plugged into the wall? or do they run on batteries?
is there a little speaker icon in your taskbar ? (next to the clock)

start > settings > control panel > sounds and audio devices

on the volume tab...is the mute button checked? if yes..uncheck
how about the "place volume icon in the taskbar" checked? if no check

right click on my computer > manage > device manager > do you see any yellow ? or !

yes a yellow ? on adio controller
anyway i plug my speakers into my ipod and they work but my computer they don't

it says hardware not installed cant find correct software
so where can i download the software?
cause i have no clue where the cd is.
