I am looking for an alternative to paying $1,000 to get Macromedia Flash MX 6 and Adobe Photoshop 7. Can anyone tell me of alternative tools? Or what I should look for on Ebay? Or someplace that has really good prices on these?

Hi Jim,
GIMP would be an equal to Adobe Photoshop, although it might be slightly more difficult to master, nevertheless it is almost equivalent, if not better especially when you count the price (GIMP is open source => free) GIMP is better.

Flash is harder though. There is an alternative for Linux, though I don't know the name. Try googling it.. If you are willing to pay something, try Flash 5, quite old but easy to use, low hardware requirements but effectively, you can do the same great stuff with MX 6,2005 or whatever you have. I have both Flash 5 and Flash MX 2005 but I use Flash 5 more often.

The choice is yours :whistling:
