Hi

i have downloaded a zip program.. and extracted it all. but when i come to open the program the box comes up.. but gives me an error which reads

''Could not aqcuire I/O. Windows NT/2K users must have administrative rights.'' and there is an okay button.. which i click.. and it closes the program..

how can i change this?? so i can view this program..

Are you running this under an administrator account? It looks like you may be running this as a limited user account.

I went to control panels..
user accounts

it says..

R.p
computer administrative

guest.
guest account is off

how would i know im running under an administrator account.. this my own computer..

You're default profile is an administrator account. WinXP sets up the primary account as an admin account.

I was looking through the read-me, it looks like you need to attach the receiver to your parallel port. Have you attached it? Also, it says to make sure that your parallel port is set up for bi-directional communications. Do you know how to do that?

even though its not attached.. it should allow me to access this program.. it wont even allow me to click anything .. the message pops up and i have only one option to click ''ok'' which exits the program.

Most parallel ports are set to bi-directional as a default, so we'll check on that if we still have problems.

Let's see, when I run it it works fine. Did you extract the whole zip file, or just the one program?

Let's look at your parallel port in the device manager.

Right click on My Computer and pick Properties. Click on the Hardware tab and then Device Manager. Do you see any yellow ! or ? listed in the Device Manager?

To check for bidirectional you need to reboot and get to your CMOS settings. When you start your computer, there will be a message saying something like "Press <DEL> to enter setup." Press the key that is says when you see the message. If you don't see that start tapping either DEL, F1, or F10 once a second until you enter the BIOS setup screen. Look for Parallel Port on one of the screens, and make sure it is set to EPP. When you are done, exit and save settings. Your computer will then reboot.

it says speedstream..

have you downloaded the zip file.. and opened wall? because i was talking to another tech help support from a different forum site.. they said they found the same problem when opened the wall icon

Speedstream is has a yellow ! or ? next to it in the Device Manager?

And I've opened the program, and I get 'Warning! The ID code is incorrect.' But I can still use the program.

I can't seem to duplicate your problem.
