EXTREME - COMPUTER WILL NOT START

I have a 4 yr old Gateway running XP. When turned on/off all I get is the gateway logo. Emergency startup disk, reinstall driver disk, F8-F-11, none work???????? The power went out last night and now I can't get anything to work. Any HELP out there?????????

If the tower has an off switch, use that, leave it off for a couple of minutes, turn the switch on, start the PC

If no off switch, unplug from the mains for a couple of minutes
