Hi guys, I've also recently downloaded and installed Vista (32-bit) as an upgrade to my XP Pro OS. However when the computer tries to load up Vista the windows boot manager says one of my files is corrupt or missing and I need to fix it.

The file in question is netflt.sys (status: 0xc0000098)

It tells me to run a recovery tool which I have on my XP disc but which one should I run? The automatic recovery or the boot menu one? Sorry but I'm kinda clueless when it comes to this. I've tried booting from the Vista dvd but the screen just goes blank (did so whilst installing but I knew it was still working so I left it).

Any suggestions? I really don't wanna have to uninstall it so I'm posting on my laptop whilst I'm finding a fix.

It tells you to use the XP cd?

Could you explain in more detail what you did and what the error messages are?

And you truly did an upgrade, rather than clean install (bad idea)
