Hey, might seem a n00bish wuestion, but im not tht good at the hardware aspect of pcs...
Whats the difference between PCI and PCI-E

AND...

I have just bought a PCI-E graphics card, will it work in a PCI slot???

PCI-e is a graphics interface only. It is PCIx16 whereas PCI is just PCIx3 I think. PCI-e has a much larger bandwidth than PCI. Twice that of AGP8x

Physically, a PCI-E slot is longer than a PCI slot.

No, a PCI-E card will not work in a PCI slot. They're physically different and use different bandwidths.

Ehh, not that I know of. If you were able to, though, it would limit the card severly.

No you could maybe make it compatible interface wise. but bandwisth and power wouldnt be enough to run the card.
