willie.gif First of a big hi to everyone :blink: . My problem is every time i start my pc this comes up [ cmos battery low, cmos memory size wrong, also press f1 to run set up, press f2 to load defaut values and continue, i press f2 and away i go. Hope someone can help me im old and dim not thick :whistling: . Thank you in advance.

CMOS, that's your BIOS battery, on the motherboard.
If it's empty, it will revert the BIOS to factory settings.
But you must have done your best to get that battery empty...
Normally, they last for 5 years... UNPLUGGED from the power.
When it's on the netpower, the BIOS will draw it's power from there.

So, let me guess...
Either, this is a P1, with a dead battery, OR
You found a pc that was unplugged for 5+ years.

None of my business by the way :whistling:.

Anyway, I hope you know what CMOS is now. Because you said your old, I thought you didn't know what "CMOS" ment.

I dont know my friend, only been on line for a month, never used a pc before had one in my school [ and i mean one for the chess club cant play so never got near it! :blink: ] We have had this one for about a year my wifes brother had it before us. I downloaded hd tuner and the pc got a clean bill of health, it told me it was made up in 1997, im thinking the batterys never been changed, the only other thing it said was that the temps too high, any ideas?. Thank you for your time :whistling:
