;
;Warning: Boot.ini is used on Windows XP and earlier operating systems.
;Warning: Use BCDEDIT.exe to modify Windows Vista boot options.
;
[boot loader]
timeout=10
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /NOEXECUTE=OPTIN /FASTDETECT

vista does not use boot.ini, which is only called after the vista boot loader

To remove the VISTA boot loader, start your pc with your xp cd, enter the recovery console, type

fixboot c:

have it overwrite the boot sector, and you will be back to boot.ini

put your xp cd into your cd rom...reboot the computer and boot to the cd (you may need to change your boot order in the bios to have the cd drive as the first boot device) once the cd loads the setup..choose the R option for recovery console
