I'm trying to download 35mm slides onto my PC using Epson Scan program for my Epson Stylus Photo RX500. You can put four slides in the slide holder at a time. Then, your choices are "to photo card" or "to PC". I keep choosing "to PC" and the software pops up, will let me preview/scan about 2 or 3 sets of four slides and then just crashes stating "no response from scanner make sure scanner is on and properly connected. if using teh transparency unit, remove reflective mat" . The reflective mat I removed days ago!. After I close out this error message, I just start over and here we go again. It will let me do 2 or 3 sets and error message again. Sometimes I can only do one set at a time but usual 2 or3 before the next crash. What on earth is going on here? Yup, all plugged in properly, it even works properly for a few minutes at a time. After each set, the scanner goes back to "to photo card" and i have to reset it to "to PC", that is annoying but what else to do? Seems like there should be an easier way to just hurry up and download slides to the PC. Anybody with any suggestions would be helpful. I really don't want to just bag the project, I have about 1000 slides to get to the PC and would like to do it sometime this decade! yikes, what a piece of poop this Epson has turned out to be.
