hey everyone

I am haveing huge difficulties with my laptop right now

internet moves really slow, I still cannot get into hotmail, msn and some other login websites like my banking, the pages all just show up as cannpt be displayed. but only certain websites

I also cant get rid of norton, it is expired but i cant uninstall it off my computer, when i try to remove it i add/remove programs it just says there is an error or problem with the program and it just wont uninstall

these problems have been going on for a long time like a month or so....and my wireless internet is moving pretty slow also

now when i log on to my computer any windows sounds like the sound when i logon to windows it sounds all fuzzy and distorted, but its not my speakers becasue other stuff played on my computer sounds normal....just like windows sounds are distorted.....

i am getting really concerned about this problem and i appreciate any help i can get....i did the malware scan and my hijack log is on that board...but i havent gotten any responses or anything so i just dont know what to do anymore....

thanks for any help!!!!

hey xdramaqueenx,

you might or might not have some sort of malware on your laptop, my advice is to wait for someone to help you out at the malware forum first...i know from experience that THAT forum's a very busy place, but the guys there know their stuff.

as for your speed problems, you could try TuneUp Utilities 2006:
tuneup, get you fixed right up. I'm pretty sure it comes with a program uninstaller so you could use that to remove Norton from your system.

hope this helps! :whistling:

AppName: {a93c9e60-29b6-49da-ba21-f70ac6aade20}.exe AppVer: 8.0.2.5 ModName: ascompbr.dll
ModVer: 2005.1.2.6 Offset: 00009179

^ that is what the norton error report says and the version of norton is 2005 version 8.0.2.5

and i tryed to follow instuctions from miscrosoft.com to fox my internet problem but i could only get as far as going into administrative tools...becasue beyond that there was no local security policy to double click.......it just wasnt there!!

and....it is only sites that say httpS that i cant get into.......and now i need to enroll in classes for school and i cant get into my site becasue it is https...so that is not good!!! haha
so any ideas how i can fix that???...ive already used miscrosoft.com and followed a whole bunch of instructions......nothing seems to work though....

thanks in advance for any help

It isn't https, click the link and take the s out manually then press enter

Please follow the procedures outlined here: Malware Removal Guide

You will need a PC which can connect to the internet

Run all the programmes as advised then post a current Hijack This Log in a new topic in the Malware Forum

For the purpose of accurate malware analysis, Hijack This Logs are only dealt with in the Malware Forum. Posting them anywhere else will result in a delayed response

If you are unable to run any of the programmes, please ask for advice in the Malware Forum
