:help: after i have downloaded a movie file i attempt to burn it to vcd my software which is magix movies on cd and dvd says it cannot read the file even though its a mpeg or avi file please any help

which file did you burn to the cd. You need to convert to .bin/.cue file and then burn the .cue file to the cd.

the file was a avi movie file off kazaa the software plays it as does windows media player but i cannot burn it to vcd i have had noproblems burning music videos that i have downloaded off kazaa

You need to first convert the AVI to Mpeg format. TEMPGEnc is a very popular free program for doing this. You can find a guide here:

Do you have an unzipping program installed on your computer? (i.e. WinZip)

i have downloaded winzip opened TEMPEnc tried to convert the avi movie and TEMPnc says it can not open or unsupported what does that mean the movie is a avi <_<

success and thank you all who helped in the end i download winzip which unzipped the TEMPNce converter folder which converted the avi movie to a mpeg movie which i then finally could burn too disc once again thanks all
