I have experienced a slowing down feeling of my new laptop and have a notion that it may be due to the entries that keep appearing in my spybot s & D checks. After further investigation, I also found something that pertained to minibug transporter weather bug. I'm not sure what it all means but i have taken it upon myself to rid my laptop of this problem. I have my hijackthis log available after completing the initial helpful steps your site has provided prior to posting.

thank you for taking the time to look, although i am curious why the same DSO Exploits keep showing up. Well, it has now experienced the ex-girlfriend's wrath so i don't think the laptop slowing down a bit is the gonna be the worst of my problems. It was fun while it lasted though.

The Data Source Object (DSO) Exploit is a security gap in Internet Explorer, Outlook and Outlook Express. Microsoft has already closed this gap through Windows Update security updates. So if you have kept your Windows up to date, it should no longer be a threat to your system.

Unfortunately, Spybot Search & Destroy will still detect DSO Exploit. However, instead of fixing it for good, Spybot will set it back to the invalid value. Therefore, Spybot will continue to detect it even on a clean system.

This bug in Spybot Search & Destroy has already been repaired in beta versions and the official fix should be made available through a later update.

You can set Spybot to ignore DSO Exploit if it is really bothering you.

• Open Spybot Search & Destroy.
• In the Mode menu click "Advanced mode" if not already selected.
• Choose "Yes" at the Warning prompt.
• Expand the "Settings" menu.
• Click "Ignore products".
• Click the "Security" tab.
• Check the "DSO Exploit" box.
• In the File menu click "Exit" to exit Spybot Search & Destroy.
