Hello everyone,

I have a problem playing The Sims. The game seems to be lagging. When playing ONLY the original game, it works fine. Most of the expansion packs need the following:

- 500Mhz CPU
- 128MB RAM
- 8MB Video Card

I have a 1.7Ghz CPU, 256MB RAM and a 128MB Graphics Card. Whenever installing and trying to play expansions, it lags. What can be wrong? I have all the system requirements for the expansion packs to run.

If anyone can help me, please don't hesistate. Thanks in advance,

DS

My video card is a brand new GeForce FX5500. I did defragment my PC. I'm not sure what you mean by "program running" while playing Sims.

I do have an Anti-Virus program and a few system processes, but that's all.

Yes, I came to that conclusion when GTA 3 didn't work properly. What I can't understand is the fact that the requirements states it needs only 128MB for XP.

So I should basically just upgrade my RAM to 512MB and it should work?

With RAM being as cheap as it is I say go for 1GB

I haven't built a computer (even for office use) without at least 1GB of RAM since 2002.
