Do you at any point receive a message that mentions 'Incorrect Function'?
What happens if you put a blank CD-R into the drive, cancel out any autorun dialogs and double click on the drive in my computer?
Posted 20 June 2006 - 09:17 PM
no message about incorrect function
the cd drive dosnt show anything when i put in a blank cd and click on the drive
Posted 22 June 2006 - 07:34 AM
If this is the case, I'd recommend uninstalling Nero 7 demo and reinstalling whatever you were using to write CDs in the past

Put a blank CD-R into the drive, and open My Computer. Double click on the drive in question, and reply describing exactly what happens. Do any windows open at all? Do you get any dialog boxes? I was under the impression that there was -no- response when you did this, and now you are saying that it says there is no disc in the drive.
Also, is this XP Pro, or XP Home?
